FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) - Children expecting a normal day of instruction at Peace Academy in Fargo were instead met with two fuzzy surprises.
The llamas came courtesy of Harvest Hope Farm in Moorhead, and they actually have a special connection to the school.
“As a nonprofit childcare and preschool, we serve meals to kids. Inevitably, there are scraps and trimmings and our leftovers,” explained the director of Peace Academy, Jana Bruhschwein. “We realized that these food items could benefit Harvest Hope in feeding their animals.”
The partnership strengthens the bonds of community between the two nonprofits. Harvest Hope, however, has an additional mission that makes support from organizations such as Peace Academy all the more important.
